The Secession Building is an iconic art nouveau structure located in Vienna, Austria. Built in 1897 as the headquarters of the Vienna Secession, a group of artists who rejected the conservative academic style of the time, the building is known for its distinctive dome and golden leaf ornamentation. The interior of the building features several large exhibition halls that were designed to showcase contemporary art, as well as a permanent installation of Gustav Klimt’s famous Beethoven Frieze (on display inside since 1901).
